Nova atualização da versão beta do Photomatix Pro 4.0, tivemos bastante modificações/atualizações nesta versão e a mais significativa( ou a que vai impactar muitos usuários “ilegais” ) é a melhoria do sistema de validação de chaves de registro. Nessa modificação somente quem comprou e tem uma chave de registro original poderá registrar o seu novo Photomatix Pro 4.0, mas você que já tem seu Photomatix registrado por meios “ilegais” e pensa que vai poder usar a sua chave está enganado pois quando se abre o programa ele pede para confirmar a chave de registro e confere com o banco de dados para ver se é uma chave original. Então não adianta usar os famosos Keygens para registrar o novo Photomatix (pelo menos até agora) que não vai funcionar.

Windows platform

-	Bug fixed: Loupe was sometimes not working correctly when tone mapping single image.
-	Bug fixed: Clicking on a custom thumbnails (ie. under the ‘My Presets’ tab) for the Tone Compressor method returned an error.

-	Bug fixed: Thumbnails for the Adjust/Itensive method could show completely black.

-	Bug fixed: Settings embedded in processed image did not have the correct values for Smoothing in “Light Mode”.
-	Bug fixed: On the Settings Adjustment window, the Help icon disappeared after having clicked on it for the second time.
Mac platform
-	Enlarged initial size of preview of selective deghosting tool.
-	Added ‘Presets’ combo-box to panel for Fusion methods in batch mode.
-	Bug fixed: Crash with batch processing when generating HDR image with automatic deghosting enabled from images without exif data or when two or more source images have the same exposure information.
-	Bug fixed: Loading a corrupted jpeg file made the application quit.
-	Bug fixed: Saving a tonemapped or fused image as JPEG or 8-bit TIFF and applying CA reduction on it resulted in distorted output.
-	Bug fixed: On Batch Bracketed Photos or Batch Single Files, the list under the Presets pop-up menu of the Details Enhancer or Tone Compressor settings dialogs was not properly updated when the settings dialog of one of the methods had been already accessed.

Como podemos ver ainda está em fase BETA e podem surgir alguns bugs, e para isso a HDRsoft criou uma pagina para os usuários que estão dispostos a testar o novo programa enviarem os bugs encontrados na versão de testes.

Photomatix Pro 4.0 Beta 7

Está disponível (desde ontem dia 11 de agosto de 2010) para download a versão beta do Photomatix Pro 4.0, um dos mais famosos programas de edição de fotografia HDR no mundo. Tivemos algumas modificações desde a sua ultima versão (3.2.9) vou motrar abaixo algumas telas e o que a HDRSOFT falou sobre a versão beta.

The main updates in version 4.0 are a semi-manual deghosting tool, thumbnails for built-in and user presets, improved noise reduction, and access to Tone Mapping and Exposure Fusion settings from the same window. “Hdr Soft”

TELA 1: NOVO ICONE A BOTÕES (clique para ampliar)

Tela 2: Vemos aqui algumas novas opções e pequeno ajusto de design, como ajuste fino de redução de ruido;

TELA 3: NOVA TELA DE EDIÇÃO (clique para ampliar)

Tela 3: Gostei da nova tela de edição, ja mostra um preview dos seus presets e teve alguma melhoria no design do menu de edição da esquerda. Outra mudança foi a possibilidade de mudar de tone mapping para exposure fusion na tela de edição;

Chegada do Inverno em TimeLapse

Timelase da chegada do Inverno (clique para ampliar)

Na chegada do inverno tive uma pauta a cumprir aqui no serviço, fotografar o nascer do sol da primeira manhã do inverno. Uma tarefa nada fácil, chegar na redação as 5h de uma manhã fria para fotografar de ângulos diferentes e de uma forma muito especial a chegada do inverno.

As fotos foram tiradas do terraço do prédio da Zero Hora na rua Erico Verissimo com a Avenida Ipiranga em Porto Alegre. Eu e a editora Fabiane Echel (que produziu esta pauta) posicionamos as 2 câmeras em 5 ângulos diferentes para captar as melhores imagens, na medida do possível para a limitação de deslocamento do terraço.

No total foram exatas 2043 fotos, em HDR de 3 fotos tiradas com uma Canon S5is durante quase 2 horas. Já tinha feito alguns testes de timelapse mas esse foi o primeiro que publiquei, e podem aguardar que mais novidades virão por ai!

Abaixo a matéria que saiu na ZeroHora.com :

As cores do amanhecer em Porto Alegre, no primeiro dia de inverno, foram registradas hoje em milhares de fotos pela equipe de ZH e do clicRBS. Em imagens capturadas de cima do prédio de Zero Hora, na Avenida Erico Verissimo, utilizou-se a técnica de time-lapse, usada no cinema, na qual o objeto em foco é fotografado em determinados períodos de tempo com uma câmera estática.

A editora do clicRBS Fabiane Echel e o fotógrafo Omar Junior chegaram ao prédio de Zero Hora antes das 5h de hoje para registrar frame a frame a cena. O primeiro passo foi preparar o equipamento: duas câmeras fotográficas com um software especial para captura das imagens em time-lapse. De quatro ângulos diferentes, foram tiradas mais de 2000 fotos em um intervalo de quatro segundos.

O que é HDR?

HDR / High Dynamic Range / Grande Alcance Dinâmico

Os sensores das câmeras digitais conseguem captar as cores e luzes dentro de uma faixa teoricamente limitada (LDR – Low Dynamic Range). Isto faz com que em zonas de muito contraste, algumas informações de cores e de luz sejam perdidas.

Veja o desenho abaixo:

Nosso olho (1ª linha) consegue ver uma tonalidade de luz muito maior que o sensor da câmera (2ª linha).

Um exemplo prático:

Se você está dentro de um galpão escuro em um dica claro, e esta de frente para porta e fotografa em direção a rua.o que a sua câmera vai registrar? Dependendo onde você fez a medição de luz, vai aparecer o galpão escuro/subexposto e o exterior claro/bem exposto ou o galpão todo iluminado/bem exposto e o exterior superexposto/muito claro “estourado”. Como resolver esse problema?

Com o HDR, é possível equalizar a luz do ambiente deixando você ver o que está tanto no interior quanto no exterior. Tirando fotos com exposições diferentes do mesmo local e depois “misturando-as” em um software, ele faz o ajuste das tonalidades de luz. Isso é chamado de Mapeamento de Tons (tone mapping).

Creio que o HDR, na fotografia, tem como função principal equalizar os tons de luz e contraste que não se consegue com uma única foto, através de duas ou mais exposições buscando um resultado mais parecido com o real.

No processo de mapeamento de tons pode-se fazer um HDR fiel a cena real ou um com tom mais artístico. Isso vai do gosto de cada pessoa. Para deixar mais artístico, deve-se regular o software para deixar as opções nos níveis mais fortes. O resultado fica mais perto do surrealista, isso pode ser bom ou ruim, vai depender do uso que você quer para a foto.

O processo edição de uma foto HDR é divido em 2 etapas:

1. Obter as fotos

Primeiramente você vai precisar de três fotos (pode ser 4 ou 5, depende do nivel de detalhamento que você esta buscando, mas com três já se consegue um bom resultado) com exposições diferentes. Uma normal (0 EV), uma subexposta (-2 EV) e outra superexposta (+2 EV).

Para isso é necessário usar o auto-bracketing, que é o recurso no qual a câmera tira 3 ou mais fotos com exposições diferentes, geralmente -2EV – 0 – +2EV. Usando este recurso ,tira-se 3 ou mais fotos do mesmo local com exposições diferentes, a -2EV vai registrar as partes mais claras em uma tonalidade bem suave, a 0EV vai tirar a foto fotometrada corretamente e a +2EV vai estourar onde estava claro e onde estava escuro vai ficar bem claro.

Trabalhando com baixa velocidade é recomendado o uso de um tripé para que as fotos saiam sem nenhuma diferença, pois é fundamental na hora da mistura que todas as fotos estejam corretamente alinhadas.

2. Mistura e Ajustes

Após ter obtido as fotos com exposições diferentes é só mistura-las em um programa apropriado para isso. Eu recomendo estes programas:

- Photomatix

- Artizen HDR

- Dynamic Photo HDR

Agora é só abrir as 3 imagens em um dos programas, mistura-las e fazer os ajustes para cada foto. Não tem como dar uma receita, pois cada fotografia pede um ajuste diferente, então tente achar o seu.

Foi liberada a versão final do Photomatix para windows(32/64 bit) e mac.

-	Details Enhancer’s Highlights Smoothness setting (i.e. the setting that avoids grey highlights and preserves “clean” skies) has been significantly improved.
-	Improved the accuracy of the Tone Mapping preview compared to the final image and changed the size options on the preview dialog. Size options are now ratios of the input HDR image such as 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8. Intermediary sizes are achieved via the ‘Preview Magnification’ setting.
-	Histogram of tone mapping dialog in now available per color channel and shows in a separate window. The count and percentile of each level is displayed while the user moves the mouse over the histogram.
-	Contextual help for the tone mapping controls shows in an expandable section of the Tone Mapping Settings dialog.
-	Batch Processing adds an option for automatically detecting the photos belonging to a bracketed set. This option is useful when some of the photos in the processed folder are not part of a bracketed set and/or when the number of frames per bracketed set varies.
-	Batch Processing adds an option for processing a sub-set of each bracketed set. This option is useful, for instance, when the user wish to batch process only three frames of bracketed sets containing five frames taken in one-EV step each.
-	Based on requests from time-lapse photographers, Batch Processing now reads any valid Tone Mapping setting XMP file saved under a processed sub-folder, and use its settings to tone map the images of the sub-folder.
-	Improved alignment of “by matching features” method.

-	Bug fixed: When processing images with exposure blending and the “Align images” option was unchecked, Photomatix may still try to align the images.
-	Bug fixed: Some PSD files showed black when opened.
-	Bug fixed: selecting the “360° image” option did not correct the difference at the zenith.
-	Bug fixed: generating an HDR image from more than eight files of 21 MegaPixels each and in 16 bits/channel crashed due to insufficient memory.
-	Bug fixed: When saving image as TIFF, DateTimeOriginal tag was not written in the correct order, which made Picasa crash and GIMP return a warning.
-	Bug fixed: Exposure Blending with the Adjust method did not produce correct output when the “Shadows” setting was higher than 0 and the source images in 16 bits/channel mode.
-	Bug fixed: crash when using the ‘Unwrap Mirror Ball’ utility.
-	Bug fixed: Batch Processing with exposure blending 16-bit images while the output bit-depth was set to 8 did not work.
-	Bug fixed: White Balance setting was not taken into account.
